How to get the Tibet Travel Permit? If you are coming to Tibet from Other cities in China.

The most popular transportation mode for travellers travelling to Tibet from China is either flight or train. So we will discuss the scenario base on it.

Flight from other cities to Tibet.

For all those coming to Tibet from other parts of China in flight. You will need the original permit in hand before going into the flight bound for Lhasa. We can send your permit to your hotel in that transiting city.

Suppose you don’t want to book a hotel for a night, just for receiving the permit. We recommend you to fly to Chengdu and take a flight to Lhasa from Chengdu. In this way, we can have someone come to the airport to deliver your Tibet travel permit. The permit delivery fee is 300 RMB.

Train from other regions to Tibet.

Suppose you are taking a train from other regions to Tibet. You will only require a copy of the Tibet travel permit while getting your train ticket or boarding the train to Lhasa. So we will have to send you the picture of your permit via email. Please make sure you have access to your email in China and use a message Apppp called WeChat.

Suppose you are coming from Chongqing to Lhasa by Train. You will need the original permit, and hence we will have to send it to your hotel in China. Or arrange someone to drop it for you.

Overland drive to Tibet.

Yes, you can do an overland drive to Tibet from Yunnan, Sichuan and Xinjiang prefecture of China. In this case, we will have to send the tour guide and Driver (if our car is booked) to meet you either at the Provincial border or any place in the given province. The overland journey is popular for its beautiful landscape and extended journey.
