Tent guesthouses. Suppose your Tibet tour plan includes a visit to Mount Everest Base Camp. The Tent Guest House is the more affordable accommodation option at the Mount Everest Base Camp. Near the Rongbuk Monastery is a cluster of black tents where local Tibetan families host travelers for a night's stay at the basecamp. It is a rectangular, black tent made from Yak wool. It would have a few beds, which are used as a bench during the daytime.
There would be some small tables. A Tibetan stove, located in the middle of the tent, would serve as the primary source of heat, burning dried yak dung. Each tent can house about ten people, now the latest version of the tent has the option of a private room. The main issue of this tent guest house is the toilet. There are only few public Tibetan toilet in the areas. It could be unhygienic and unpleasant experiences.
Beside Tent Hostel, You can stay a night in Rongbuk Monastery Hotel. It is a very nice and newly renovate accomodation. Since it is the only hotel with proper bath room, it could be over booked all the time. The manager of this hotel is our close friend and we can help get rooms in this hotel if you book the Tibet Tour Package with us.
