Following are symptoms of high altitude sickness, categories into two; mild and severe

In most case, symptoms are mild. Followings are the symptoms of mild to moderately high altitude sickness.

  • Dizziness or light-headedness
  • Fatigue
  • headache
  • Difficulty in Sleeping
  • loss of appetite
  • Rapid pulse
  • shortness of breath with exertion

The following are the symptoms that may occur with more severe mountain sickness

  • The blue colour of skin
  • chest tightness or congestion
  • confusion
  • cough or coughing up blood
  • Decrease in consciousness or withdrawal from social interaction
  • Gray or pale complexion
  • Can not walk in a straight line
  • line or walk at all
  • shortness of breath at rest
